Product Development Manager - Asset Management

Job Description:

A top tier multi-billion dollar asset management firm in New York is currently seeking a Product Development Manager with offshore development experience (preferably in Europe or elsewhere).The Product Development Manager for Offshore Funds will be responsible for managing offshore fund product ideas through all phases of the product development process.  In this capacity, they will be responsible for ensuring timely and effective progress of projects under their management.  They will need to package product ideas for approval by senior management, and then once the product is approved, craft and update development plans, ensure appropriate parties are kept in the loop, anticipate issues that could cause delays, marshal resources to ensure timely and informed delivery, and ensure continuous improvement of the development process.

 

Specifically the development manager will:

· Report to the Head of Product Management and Development

· Form a partnership with heads of the various functional areas that ensure effective product delivery including Sales, Marketing, Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Operations etc.

· Work with the Portfolio Management teams to craft investment guidelines, and define investment processes and portfolio construction methodology

· Work with Marketing to develop the necessary materials to support Sales of the product and coordinate launch activity

· Coordinate with Sales to prioritize ideas for new funds so that resources are focused on high priority initiatives

· Provide perspective on the entirety of the European based offering to ensure that the various fund families can operate effectively as a whole

· Coordinate the process for approving new share classes and new market registrations for existing funds

Qualifications7+ years experience in asset management product development MBA/CFA a plus Strong interpersonal and influence management skills Strong oral and written communication skills Natural leader – able to motivate professionals across functional areas Strong sense of accountability and internal motivation Ability to understand complex product and structural issues so as to ensure proper direction and efficient resolution
