Job CategoryIT/Software Development Job Location US-CA-Irvine StatusFull Time Position description This Project Manager opening is in the American Funds Web Group, a multi-functional group of energetic professionals chartered to manage our American Funds website. The group seeks to take the on-line channel to the next level by enabling business through superior user experience and forward looking technology. This position will typically be responsible for leading large-scale public-facing web application development projects involving teams of 5 to 20 members with diverse backgrounds ranging from creative design, business analysis, to technology. This position will work closely with business sponsors and collaborate with other members in the web group to identify business opportunities and form project visions in addition to leading the execution through the full SDLC of the projects.Qualifications Advanced knowledge of project management practices including the ability to structure the work, define roles, delegate responsibilities and develop and manage project/activity plans and schedules Extensive experience working in a collaborative mode across large and geographically dispersed teams Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage assigned project responsibilities with limited supervision Demonstrated ability to conduct business impact and cost/benefit analysis evaluations and recommend the appropriate course of action for assigned projects Demonstrated good judgment in identifying issues, facilitating problem solving and recommending solutions Knowledge of systems development concepts including underlying technologies, database and application design and system architecture Experience with web based systems; Experience with RUP/iterative development methodologies highly desirable Experience with development and application of best practices and practical processesWe offer excellent salaries, a progressive environment and a premier benefits package that includes: Medical, dental and vision coverage effective day one Three weeks vacation in year one 15% of annual salary plus bonuses contributed by the company to your retirement plan, up to IRS limits Generous educational assistance Health club subsidy Paid, comprehensive training programs Team-oriented working environment Business casual dressWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
