Project Manager Opening

The job holder manages the planning, organizing and implementation of complex strategic projects or programs (highly visible initiatives crossing multiple disciplines, businesses, and/or organizations). The role will be primarily functional in nature in either a software development or implementation project. S/he takes projects from original concept through final implementation. S/he directs and controls all work performed in the framework of the WBS, monitors the critical path and implements appropriate corrective actions. Recognizes and communications broad implications of issues and risks; applies a disciplined decision model in making decisions. S/he manages client relations to ensure service expectations are developed and met. S/he is responsible for assembling a matrixed project team, including identification and securing of resources needed from other disciplines and/or organizations. S/he assigns responsibilities based upon the project plan. S/he may manage a capital budget associated with the initiative. S/he provides technical guidance as needed and influences the project direction and scope. S/he champions current project management standard processes and ensures compliance to quality assurance policies. Requires high end user interaction. 

S/he has knowledge of technologies at use within the project(s) for which s/he is responsible. Job holder must have extensive experience with managing client expectations, implementing service improvement initiatives and communicating effectively with senior management and executive management. Prior experience managing strategic and/or cross-organizational projects and planning and tracking multiple disciplines or organizations and be adept to building consensus across organizational and functional lines. Must have proven experience in identifying risks, issues, and making effective decisions. Advanced degree or Project Mgmt. Certification (PMP) preferred.
