Instead, all of our revenue is used to provide patient care and to support our policy to provide care regardless of a patient's financial circumstances.Sutter VNA & Hospice is committed to being the “employer of choice” through competitive wages and benefits, flexible schedules, new technologies including laptop computerized charting, tuition reimbursement, and more!The QA/Applications Support oversees the accuracy of the billing systems (Horizon, CPR+, Medi.Com) activities for Sutter VNA & Hospice A/R department, as well as excellent knowledge of Microsoft, Adobe and other software applications. This position interfaces and coordinates the activities based upon applicable rules, regulations of Federal and State governments, contracts and established policy and procedures. The administrator updates the billing systems and informs the manager and department of regulation or policy changes with SVNAH and/or contracted agencies of changes to billing requirements, including coding research as needed. This position supports the functions for end of month processing, balancing, reports creation and training of new billing department staff using the computer systems and billing policy and procedures guidelines.Education: BA degree in Business or the equivalent in education and experience is required.Experience: Experience in health care field is preferred as well as demonstrated practice in billing following established Federal and State regulations.Knowledge: Knowledge of current billing system and regulations relating to Medicare, Medi-Cal, HMO and Commercial insurances, for Homecare, Hospice and Infusion Pharmacy, as an available resource to obtain updated information.Special Skills/Equipment:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer word processing and data base software is required, preferable MS Office.Physical Requirements/Essential Job Functions: Essential job duties and physical demands include and are not limited to: Must be able to remain sedentary for approximately 50% of the day, maneuver around objects, climb stairs and/or work in relatively small spaces, bend over or stretch as necessary, operate telephone and manipulate small clerical items (e.g. paperclips, staples, etc.). Must be able to hear, read, write and speak clearly to effectively communicate with department staff, other employees and community, and carryout essential functions. Must be able to perform long periods of computer data entry with sitting and keyboard use. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to handle sensitive issues, conflict with or among others, respectively direct and reinforce staff efforts; effectively plan and organize and prioritize work, and to effectively solve unique problems as they arise or identify when to consult supervisor. Must be able to deal with a challenging work environment from time demands and conflicting priorities. Maintain a positive and professional image and demonstrate self-directed learning to meet professional development and/or license requirements. At orientation and annually thereafter, must be able to meet core competencies for position and area of specialty, as appropriate.
