Job duties and responsibilitiesManage Canadian equity assets according to investment guidelines, including the larger and more complex and important accounts/fundsTake initiatives in developing new investment ideas and actively participate in the research projectsValidate research results and implement into investment processMonitor and analyze portfolio performance and strive to enhance portfolio returnsTypically involved in supporting the business development and client servicing efforts, in tandem with the marketing team (performance reviews and sales finals)

 

Minimum requirementsFive or more years of quantitative investment experience, either on the research front or on the portfolio management frontFamiliar with the Canadian equity market characteristics and structuresSuperior knowledge and experience of at least one statistical programming languages, e.g., SAS, SPLUS, MATLAB (SAS preferred)Experience in financial databasesUnderstanding of alpha models, risk models, and portfolio optimizersExperience in trading Canadian equity securities Enrolment in the CFA program an assetStrong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skillsCareful attention to details
