RFP Consultant

The Newport Group is a leading provider of retirement services and asset management, specializing in 401(k) retirement plans, executive deferred compensation plans, and investment advisory services. Working with hundreds of the country’s largest and best-known companies, we provide their employees with the tools they need to help them reach their financial destinations. We are searching for an RFP Consultant. The RFP Consultant will assume responsibility for, and manage, Newport’s process for responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Due Diligence information requests.

 
Essential Functions

· serve as the first point of contact for RFPs which come to Newport, and assess and evaluate the business opportunity

· identify gaps in the information provided, and proactively gather the required information

· based on the scope of work requested, will help determine pricing with the appropriate business area

· clearly identify all requirements and information needed to produce a winning proposal customized to the clients and their needs

· work with executives, consultants, communications team and others to clarify RFP requirements and the strategy to be incorporated in the proposal

· develop, manage and write compelling proposal copy and ensure all other RFP response requirements have been met

· update and maintain RFP machine, or other appropriate database of Newport’s RFP answers

· supervise the process of gathering, printing, and assembling exhibit material

· enhance quality of overall RFP product—benchmark against “best in class” by product line

 
Minimum Skills/Qualifications 

Ideal candidates will have experience with qualified retirement plans, non-qualified deferred compensation and investment advisory as well as a background in responding to RFPs and RFIs, with some experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field—or a combination of education and work experience. Prefer 3+ years related proposal writing/RFP experience. Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal skills, attention to detail and knowledge of graphic identity standards, grammar and punctuation are essential. Must have excellent project management skills with the ability to work under pressure. Must be able to manage workflow and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Five-plus years of business writing in a professional financial services environment that has included writing proposals. Excellent writing, editing, quantitative and verbal/written English language communication skills required. Edit and proofread with meticulous attention to detail. Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in MS Word. RFP Machine software experience a plus. BA/BS required.
