Risk Account Manager

Summary of Responsibilities: The Risk Account Manager (RAM) is a Risk & Recovery Department position and is based out of the corporate office.  The RAM's responsibilities include 70% negotiations/collecting, 20% training/mentoring and 10% analysis of loss.  Working with Field Operations, the RAM’s job has three primary components: 

 

Portfolio Management

RAMs are negotiators and are to review, analyze, and identify exposure situations within the branch portfolios.  Once identified, form plans to address these accounts. Plans will range from simple “passive” follow up to direct negotiations and / or collateral recovery.

 

Demonstrate quality communication / negotiations skills

Working with branch personnel, RAMs are to mitigate losses by using their negotiation skills.  Combine the account review with a customer interview and the RAM should know 95% of the variables involving a negotiation.  Using tact, diplomacy and sound judgment a successful negotiation will develop, thus creating the most favorable outcome for the company.

 

Exercise good judgment

RAMs should constantly be evaluating the situation’s “health” and be ready to protect the company's investment at all times. Decisions to end negotiations, rekindle workout plans and / or to deal with collateral should all be in the hands of the RAM.  Objectivity and prioritization are key qualities.  Good judgment is crucial.

 

Basic Duties and Responsibilities: Work with Field Operations as assigned to identify, monitor and resolve default accounts Create and maintain Collection Management Report for each identified default accountCreate a collection history for each default account Assist Field Operations to reduce delinquency and write off percentages Provide objective perspective for the company relating to initial analysis and progress of at risk accountsGenerate weekly and monthly reports of assigned branches All other duties as assigned by company

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required5 + years collection experience required (commercial/auto loan collection experience preferred)
