SENIOR INVESTMENT ASSOCIATE
Company is a recently established, privately-held, “green” real estate investment firm based in New York City. In collaboration with its joint venture partner, a leading sustainable business strategy firm, Company is dedicated to acquiring existing commercial real estate assets (or substantial equity interests therein) and improving their energy and environmental performance. The partnership’s combined expertise in real estate, leasing and finance and in green building, energy/environmental technology and green corporate strategy and marketing, offers unique, integrated green solutions to corporate and institutional tenants, owners and investors. Both companies are active members of the US Green Building Council.
Company is currently seeking to hire a Senior Investment Associate who will be based in New York City and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial candidate that values the opportunity to participate in the evolution of the platform from inception. This individual will add value to the team by working closely with the acquisition team to help source, model, analyze, underwrite, and close new real estate investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Preparation of presentations and other marketing materials.
§ Assist with sourcing, screening, and maintaining pipeline of transactions.
§ Underwriting and closing transactions.
§ Assume primary role in the real estate analysis and financial modeling of transactions.
§ Transaction analyses for submission to investors, partners and lenders.
§ Conduct real estate market research, as well as financial research on potential tenants and joint venture partners.
§ Participate in various strategy sessions, analyses and presentations.
§ Function as a contact for various investor, joint venture, and other relationships.
§ Work closely with all members of the joint team.
REQUIREMENTS:
§ Five to seven years of experience in real estate investment or finance, acquisitions experience strongly preferred.
§ Construction or development experience.
§ Lease-back experience is necessary.
§ Strong due diligence and analytical skills.
§ Ability to model complex financial structures using Excel, Argus.
§ Superior oral and written communication skills in the English language.
§ Proficiency in PowerPoint.
§ Undergraduate degree from a strong institution is required; MBA or Masters in Real Estate is ideal.

LOCATION: New York City, Mid-town, must be commutable
