SR FUND ADMINISTRATION ANALYST

Union Bank of CaliforniaHighMark Capital Management offers investors:A personalized, client-driven process.A diversified spectrum of investment services.An active, dynamic approach to investment management.An experienced team of seasoned professionals.A consistent record of personalized service and competitive performance. Come join our team and be part of our growing organization! Work with the Fund Administration team to oversee and review of HighMark Capital Management's vendor relationships (Fund Accounting, Custody, Audit, Transfer Agency etc.)  Such oversight includes areas of financial reporting, portfolio fund accounting and tax.  The staff filling this role should have strong fund accounting experience preferably from direct industry experience or from a BIG 5.  Knowledge of '40Act compliance and tax distributions an advantage.
 
Major Responsibilities
Day to day contact person for fund accounting
Interact closely with portfolio management team, sub-administrator, custodian and fund accounting vendor to resolve issues.
As needed, implement oversight program through selective testing and analytical review
Review mutual fund financial reports prepared by vendor - annual and semiannual
Review mutual fund tax provisions - including excise tax
Review of fund tax returns or at a minimum the tax return process
Review monthly, quarterly and annual mutual fund distributions
Review the calculation of mutual fund performance
Review the expense budget monthly, including review of invoices and frequent analytics
Monitoring and analysis of blue sky registration fees
Coordinate all statistical and research data
Research and review transfer agency issues
Work on new product launches
Requires a four-year college degree and 5+ years of experience in the mutual fund industry specifically in the area of fund accounting and transfer agency (a plus). Thorough understanding of mutual fund accounting and industry issues required.  CPA/Internal Audit experience a plus but not required.  Strong Excel skills required. Union Bank of California offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including a 401K plan.
