Sales Manager- PBA

Ocean Tomo, LLC, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, is a 90-person professional services firm concentrating in consulting and specialty finance. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative business-to-business Outbound Sales/Telemarketing Manager to work with the Ocean Tomo Patent/Bid-Ask system (PBA). The PBA system is the world’s largest open platform transaction service for 33 million patents in 77 countries and patent issuing authorities.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 Proven ability to manage a technically diverse team of professionals in a sales team;Contact prospective customers and established customers, make follow-up calls and handle inbound inquiries; Generate significant number of leads for PBA submissions/asks;Generate significant number of PBA bids from buyers;Creatively market the technologies up for sale or licensing to potential buyers;Comfortable in talk with senior executives at fortune 500 companies, attorneys as well as individuals;Assist customers with general inquiries and field other inquiries to PBA; Conduct market research to identify conference program topics and faculty;Track all sales activity in a CRM based system; Provide regular updates through CRM based system to Director(s) and senior management at the firm;Must be able to work with multilingual and multinational customers and direct them to other language speaking sales professionals;Motivate and be motivated about sales strategies;

 

Qualifications:

 A bachelors degree in engineering or sciences preferred but not required;Basic knowledge of patents or patent system/process;Significant experience in setting up sales team is required;At LEAST 5 years telemarketing or sales experience required;Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette;Self-motivated, results driven, persuasive, and persistent;Ability to communicate effectively with senior-level professionals;Excellent time management and organizational skills;Proficiency with Salesforce.com or other similar CRM packages;Proven negotiating skills preferred;Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
