Securities Operations Manager

Job DescriptionResponsible for managing a securities operation process to ensure timely and accurate client security transaction processing.  Provides support to the division in terms of leadership on key initiatives and process improvements.  Determines most efficient method of processing security transactions.  Ensures that adequate systems supports are obtained and maintained.   Major Duties  1. Works closely with the management team to lead several initiatives for the division and represents the division in various organizational initiatives.2. Manages and controls various functions in a security operations group to ensure a timely and accurate product/service.  Prepares schedule of assignments or directs subordinate coordinators to ensure processing is completed within established timeframe. 3. Manages a securities operations group.  Conducts the performance management process, provides input for hiring and disciplinary actions, and provides hands-on training to staff. 4. Maintains technical knowledge of security industry and security instruments and how the function relates to other operating areas. 5. Assists client, partners, and staff with complex problem resolution. Consults on effective ways to meet client needs or appropriate method to be used for resolution of an error.6. Provides technical expertise for new securities/accounts, and oversees new accounts on an on-going basis to ensure that client needs are met. 7. Determines most efficient method of setting up or processing accounts, services, or reports. 8. Ensures that operating procedures have been established and staff adheres to procedures.  Enhances current procedures to improve productivity of the section. 9. Meets with clients to provide overview of division and answer questions.10. Provides hands-on training for new staff and on-going training of experienced staff. 11. Coordinates system support for computer applications. 12. Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities,  and ensures timely and accurate completion of work.   Knowledge/Skills  In-depth knowledge of security operations and security instruments, usually acquired through experience in related areas, is required to ensure productivity of the section and to oversee the processing of client account transactions.  Leadership and organizational skills are required to develop periodic goals and to motivate team members towards the goals set. Communication skills are required to work effectively with partners and clients.    ExperienceRequired  3-5 years security processing experience; including at least 1 year of management experience.
