Senior Accountant - Internal Reporting

Major commercial bank located in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district is seeking a Senior Internal Reporting Accountant to join the Corporate Controller’s Group. This is a key position working with the financial reporting team with responsibility for generating financial reporting packages for the Board of Directors, executive management, and the parent company as well as assisting with SEC reporting as required. Position provides a great opportunity for exposure to both internal and external reporting within a large public company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Preparing year-end and quarter-end financial information for inclusion in the SEC Form 10K/10Q and the Earnings Press Release



· Coordinating the preparation and compilation of these reports and reviewing the monthly financial package for the Board of Directors



· Preparing and reviewing significant portions of selected parent company financial reporting packages, which are prepared under both US GAAP and Japanese GAAP



· Researching pertinent new accounting pronouncements to ensure adequate and appropriate SEC reporting disclosure



· Performing ad-hoc reporting and research projects as needed to address any reporting issues



REQUIREMENTS

· BA/BS Degree in Accounting


· 3+ years of accounting/finance experience, including exposure to US GAAP and SEC reporting procedures



· CPA license or equivalent preferred



· Financial services industry preferred



· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal



· Ability to research and grasp complex technical accounting issues



· Ability to work within tight deadlines



· PC skills must include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
