Senior Business Analyst
Department Description: Brief Description: Job Responsibilities: The following is a position within the GWM Online Strategy Organization. This organization is responsible for the online experience for all of Merrill Lynch’s Global Private Clients. The vision of the Online Program is to implement a consistent and integrated online experience across all business units, that provides breadth of product, service, and informational capabilities supported by a flexible and efficient online technology platform that extends the brand to broaden and collaborate with existing client relationships, and enable new channels and segments. Specific responsibilities of the Sr. Lead Business Analyst include; manage execution of the requirements phase of the program, interacting with Sr. levels of management across the business, technology, strategy and user experience organizations. This individual will also be responsible for leading a team of 3 to 5 business analysts assigned to multiple projects. In addition to the overall ownership of requirements gathering and final deliverables phase of the online program, the Sr. Lead Business Analyst will provide feedback, guidance & analysis for all business analysts within team. The Sr. Lead Business Analyst will work in partnership with the User Experience team in defining wire-frame, screen design, layout as well as support all phases of the development life cycle, from requirements to implementation support and governance. The Sr. Lead Business Analyst will provide continuity between the various stages of the development process (Global High Level Requirements, Detailed Requirements, Detailed Use Case, and Testing processes) as team size ramps up or down, lead reviews of deliverables with various constituents (BA Team Lead, Business Unit, and Technology), manage team against project milestone & deliverable dates and provide status reports to Management. The Sr. Business Analyst will be responsible for leading various projects throughout the year. These initiatives will be in support of all GWM Business Units; from the Advisory, Banking, Mortgage Lending, to Retirement. The individual in this role will focus on providing leadership for their projects, building relationships with his/her business and technology partners, understand and represent each business unit’s needs and objectives, and ensure that vision fits within the overall online strategy. Individual will be accountable for ensuring the organization is exceeding its Critical Few ObjectivesQualifications:Proven effectiveness in fast-paced, demanding, client-driven environment. Ideal candidate will possess both a strategic thinking expertise as well as an ability to plan and execute tactical actions to implement strategic objectives. Strong leadership skills. Experience with requirements writing, use case documentation, and knowledge of the development life-cycle. Experience with creating/executing Testing artifacts; test plans, test scripts, and managing defect tracking Team player Experience with Rational tools, Visio, and iRise a plus. Preferred skills and abilities: 5 – 7 years experience in Project Management/ Business Analysis in building leading online applications within the Retail Financial Services industries Excellent communication and writing skills.
