An opportunity currently exists within our Business Information Services department for a Senior Computer Operator.

POSITION TITLE:SENIOR COMPUTER OPERATOR

DEPARTMENT:TSG - OPERATIONS

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

- Technical school or associate degree or equivalent experience (1-2 years data processing environment) required; Bachelor degree or related experience preferred

- Two years of experience in computer operations preferred

- Working knowledge of the production layered applications required

- Working knowledge of all the computer systems, both hardware and software required

MAJOR DUTIES:

- Ensure that all hardware and software problems/issues and facility problems are logged via help desk tickets and the appropriate people are notified

- Monitor and initiate all scheduled jobs and insure successful execution

- Un racking and racking of equipment

- Monitor all facility related equipment and assist with PM’s (Preventive maintenance)

- Monitor backups and prepare off-site tape rotations

- Recommend improvements based on a working knowledge of the operational environment

- Schedule and/or perform all special work requests/tasks and change control events (turnovers)

- Perform restores

- Adhere to all policies, standards, and procedures

- Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested

HOURS/LOCATION:

- Primary shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  (Overtime as required)

- Locations: primary South Pointe location - Canonsburg, PA 15317 and secondary Federated Investors Tower - Pittsburgh, PA 15222
