Senior Developer/Programmer-Investment Management Firm

Our Client, a San Francisco-based investment management firm, is in need of a consultant to join the company’s Technology team and will serve the team in a variety of roles. Acting as a Business Analyst and Project Coordinator, the consultant will be responsible for providing general technical support as well as helping with specific strategic and development projects.

 

Responsibilities

The position will require working in team environment, partnering with the business, vendors and technology teams to deliver on identified deliverables.

 

The consultant will also work on a high visibility platform project. For this project, the role will be that of a programmer, who will play a key role in maintaining existing systems & also build a new investment management platform. Consultant will be responsible for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems using SQL, stored procedures, .NET and industry standard financial products.

 

This project will be full-time, onsite in San Francisco. Project start date is set for early May. After 3 months, there may be an opportunity for consultant to extend the project 6-12 months.

 

Industry Experience

Experience in the financial services industry, specifically in Investment Management would be ideal.

 

Functional Experience

 

Required:

1. Expert in writing database stored procedures, triggers & views, on MS-SQL Server or

 Oracle database.

2. Expert in writing & implementing MS-SQL Server DTS jobs.

3. Proficient in VS.NET 2005 (VB.NET using ASP.NET) programming.

4. Have worked with Report development using MS-SQLServer 2005 Reporting services

  OR using Business Object’s Crystal Reports.

5. 5+ years experience working in development and related activities.

6. Strong communication skills, including the ability to talk to end-users and executives.

 

Nice to have:

1.Write scripts using Windows Powershell.

2.Have worked on Microsoft.Net projects using web services with ASP.NET.

3.Knowledge of Investment Management systems and the investment management lifecycle.

4.Knowledge of Portia, Linedata LVTS/ LDC, Advent.
