Join us today for an inspired and purposeful mix of professional growth opportunities and personal rewards. Key Areas of Accountability: · Develop data-based tools and applications necessary to efficiently support the measurement, monitoring, and/or forecasting of United Healthcare’s medical cost structure.· Support regional Healthcare Economics teams’ analysis through direct access to, and manipulation of, raw medical claims data from a warehouse or datamart environment.· Identify, value, and communicate key medical cost trend drivers and/or opportunities.· Provide sound, relevant medical cost analysis in support of various department and inter-department business activities.  Promote information-based decision making.· Promote improved departmental understanding of, and efficiency of access to, claims data information.· Perform other related projects and analyses as necessary.Technical Experience and Skill Requirements: · Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Mathematics/Finance/Actuarial Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. · 5+  years of previous experience in financial and/or healthcare data analysis required. · Proficient in the use of SAS, SQL, Sagent, or similar data retrieval tools, and with the manipulation of large data sets.· Experience with the practical uses and applications of healthcare data. · Excellent quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills.· Strong communication skills, both oral and written.· Ability to translate business-driven data needs to technical data specifications.· Strong project management and organizational skills.· Proficient spreadsheet and database (Microsoft Access or similar) skills required. Behavioral Requirements: · Self-motivated.· Effective team player, but works effectively as an individual.· Results oriented.
