Senior Investment Accountant (Boston area Fortune 500 Co.)

We are recruiting for a solid and growing Fortune 500 company located in the Boston area. This is a high visibility position. The successful candidate must be a high performer with a strong GAAP accounting knowledge relating to investments (derivatives and hedging instruments such as futures, interest rate swaps and fixed income investment products). The company provides outstanding compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities are as follows:

Support the monthly and quarterly accounting closing and financial reporting process
Prepare footnotes and disclosures for GAAP and statutory basis financial statements

Interact with various business units in order to analyze the derivative accounting results

Interact with internal and external auditors, provide supporting documentation and schedules as requested

Identify process improvement opportunities; perform special accounting research projects

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
4-10 years of accounting experience; ideally in one or more of the following industries: insurance, broker-dealer, investment management or banking.
Working knowledge of derivatives and related hedging instruments
Organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task
Effective oral and written communication skills
