Senior Java/J2EE Software Engineer

The candidate will mainly be involved in the development of Web based distributed solutions for the revenue applications for CME Group. These applications are internal as well as external facing that enable CME Group's client base to search, view and edit transactions, maintain registration information and execute ad-hoc reports. The selected candidate will be involved in enhancing existing applications and participating in new development. They will also be involved in the migration efforts from Cobol/DB2 to a Java/Oracle/Linux platform.

The selected candidate will need to be self motivated and be able to plan and execute based on imposed deadlines. The candidate is also expected to participate in system analysis, design, implementations, documentation and testing in support of the CME Group's goals and initiatives. The candidate must have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, be able to provide technical guidance and encourage/support a collaborative approach to development. They will also be requires to take ownership of, responsibility for and provide support on assigned applications.

Requirements

5+ years Java development experience in OO and distributed environments5+ years experience with SQL and relational databases. This includes having in-depth experience of complex multi-table structures3+ years of experience doing Java batch programming3+ years J2EE and JDBC experience3+ years with web applications3+ years Weblogic Application Server experience3+ years Linux/UnixExperience with Hibernate, Spring, Java threading and ClearCaseKnowledge of open source libraries such as Log4j, JUnit, Ant and Apache Commons a plus
