Job CategoryCustomer Support/Client Care Job Location US-VA-Norfolk StatusFull Time Position description Were looking for an experienced Senior Manager who is passionate about ensuring that our customers receive consistently superior service. This experienced manager will guide the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of one of our critical business groups. The new manager will function as a critical part of the leadership team for the overall American Funds Customer Service organization which consists of over 3000 service representatives. You will coach develop and evaluate the performance of 7-10 Team Managers who lead teams of associates that provide service to shareholders, broker/dealers and retirement plan administrators across the United States. Additionally, you will be involved in creating business plans for new and/or revised business activities, monitoring staffing levels, and forecasting resource needs.In this role you can also expect to work with your peers to identify/implement process changes, improvements and efficiencies and ensure solid business practices. In addition, youll be a resource to your team, to peers and to other business groups by answering questions, facilitating business decisions, sharing opinions and perspectives, suggesting new and creative ideas and participating on projects.QualificationsA qualified Manager will possess a combination of the following skill and experience: 7-10 years of experience managing others in leadership/management roles. Performance management and continual development of team members. Experience developing strong business relationships within the department and across business groups and locations. Experience in leading projects with broader business impacts. Ability to achieve agreed-upon business results according to established goals and objectives. Familiarity managing a mix of daily operations and issues as well as longer term objectives. Demonstrate an exceptional standard of quality, both in their own performance and that of their team. In our environment, this involves attention to detail, thoughtful analysis and problem-solving, and accountability for excellent results.In addition: A Bachelor s degree is a plus. General knowledge of the securities/mutual fund industry is a plus, but is not a requirement.
