Position Opportunity:

We are looking for an individual who can provide leadership to our DBA group. Currently, we are in the midst of a major launch involving both off-shore and stateside efforts. We are looking for a highly experienced individual that can hit the ground running, completing full support of our Oracle database while coordinating efforts with off-shore teams! We need someone that is a self-starter and has excellent people skills. This position offers the chance to manage a small, dynamic group of DBA professionals, while also streamlining DBA support with multiple groups off-shore. Position Requirements:

- Three to five years of experience in administering, configuring, and tuning Oracle databases in a UNIX environment

- Experience defining and implementing database tuning, and backup/recovery

- Ability to coordinate several groups in various locations and work with others remotely

- Experience defining high availability strategies (preferred)

- Ability to write UNIX scripts for DBA task automation (highly preferred)

- Prior experience in the telecommunications industry, HPUX, or data warehousing (preferred)

- Experience Perl scripting, OEM, Precise/SQL, RMAN, and RAC (Preferred)

 

 

Position Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide all aspects of Oracle database administration in a Unix environment. You will be responsible for managing and providing technical leadership for a group of five database administrators state-side and also coordinating efforts with multiple off-shore groups. The chosen candidate will synchronize multiple DBA groups in 24/7 support environment. Additionally, you will lead efforts to assess problems, and implement solutions for Database issues. As a manager, you will also lead  team building, employee development, and employee evaluations. Excellent communication skills are a must-have for this position! Also imperative to this role is the ability to be flexible; we have a dynamic and constantly changing environment. You must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and collaborate with all levels within the organization in order to succeed!
