Senior Programmer Analyst - IS Compliance Support

The Edward Jones Information Systems (IS) division is seeking an individual for a Senior Programmer Analyst position that will analyze, design, code, test, and document programs and enhancements. Other responsibilities include developing and modifying complex procedures, considering equipment capacity and limitations, formulating and defining system scope and objectives, preparing detailed specifications, and providing guidance and training to less-experienced programmer analysts.Responsibilities Assist with defining and meeting business requirements. Prepare detailed software specifications. Utilize mainframe programming languages (COBOL etc. ). Provide program and system level estimates. Conduct code walk-throughs to assure quality of programs developed by other associates. Assist with interviewing and selecting potential job candidates. Provide leadership related to technical aspects of systems development and design. Ensure tools and best practice processes are in place for technologies. Proactively seek technical improvements and take the initiative to communicate/implement solutions.Requirements Bachelors Degree or equivalent IS experience. Five or more years in software development and support in a mainframe environment. Five or more years of experience with relational databases. Experience with COBOL and CICS. Experience with JAVA and/or C++ is preferred, but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
