We provide loan services to 14 of the 20 largest originators of federally guaranteed student loans. Our clients include JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, HSBC, Wachovia, and PNC. We also provide education financing programs to corporations such as CVS, AAA and General Motors. The successful candidate will be expected to translate knowledge of financial theory or sophisticated advanced mathematical or statistical analytics that will deliver business results. This person must be adept at converting data to actionable knowledge to support new approaches to risk management and to achieve significant improvements to loss prevention, loan growth and profitability optimization. Your experience in the credit card, banking, mortgage or auto loan industries will be valuable in this position. Job Responsibilities: Develop predictive models using regression analysis and data mining techniques to predict the risk of default, prevent fraud and improve business strategies. Use quantitative methods to analyze data. Detect and fix data problems and ensure data integrity. Evaluate and monitor quality of the models and their impact on business profitability. Assist in implementation of statistical models in production environment. Design, plan, and coordinate analytic work. Execute projects and track progress. Mentor and/or manage junior modelers, programmers or analysts. Manage projects within the Risk Management group and other departments related to the project, including IT, Product Development and Finance groups. Skills/Requirements MS or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 3+ years of experience are required. Predictive modeling expertise, extensive knowledge of statistical techniques such as linear regression, hypothesis testing and champion and challenger design of experiments is required. Experience in developing fraud, behavioral risk scoring or marketing response models. Programming experience in SAS/Base, SAS/Stat, and SAS/Macro and knowledge of relational databases is required . Computer programming background and awareness of common programming principles is very important. Experience in consumer lending, credit cards, or financial industries.
