Senior Vice President, Strategy and Finance, Regional CFO
Due to a promotion within Ascension Health, Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital is seeking a Sr. Vice President of Strategy and Finance/ Regional CFO.The successful candidate will provide broad leadership in the areas of strategy, finance and accounting, physician relationships, and administration of Lourdes Hospital. The successful candidate will also provide strategic support to the Ministry Market Leader for the New York and Connecticut region by serving as the Regional Chief Financial Officer.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the financial and accounting activities of Lourdes through the VP of Finance. These areas include, but are not limited to:
· Revenue Cycle (consisting of Patient Access, Central Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Transcription, Patient Accounting, Physician Billing, Cashiers, Patient Financial Assistance, Charge Master, Health Information Management, Coding, Billings and Collections).
· Supply Chain (consisting of Materials Management, Distribution, Office Services, Courier, and Purchasing).
· Financial Planning (including Decision Support, Budgeting, Financial Projections, Financial Analysis, Capital budgeting and analysis, and Pricing).
· Finance and Accounting (including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, tax filings, audits, and grants accounting).
· Reimbursement
· Managed Care rates, contracting and negotiations
2. Advise management regarding finance and accounting topics
3. Serve as liaison to the Board of Directors, Board Finance Committee and Ascension health for all strategic, and financial and accounting topics.
4. Oversee and provide leadership to Lourdes’ Strategic planning efforts.
5. Provide overall strategic guidance by participating on the Strategic Action Team, the Physician Action Team, Compensation Committee and the Management Advisory Council.
6. Lead major strategic initiatives.
7. Oversee the strategic Information Technology (IT) area through the Chief Information Officer.
8. Working with other leaders, participate in building strategic relationships with physicians and other trusted partners.
9. Evaluate opportunities to partner with physicians, such as joint ventures, management contracts, and other arrangements.
10. Coordinate all legal activities for the enterprise.
11. Participate in significant contract negotiations for the enterprise.
12. Support Ascension Health Corporate goals and objectives by participating in pilot projects, serving on selected AH committees, implementing selected AH initiatives, and looking for areas to improve operating margins.
13. Provide support to the New York Market CEO by serving as Regional CFO over the New York/ Connecticut market ministries

· Influence strategy in finance and accounting
14. Provides guidance to the CEO’s and CFO’s of the New York Market ministries on the topics of strategy and finance.
15. Identify for opportunities for collaboration among the NY ministries, such as in the areas of strategic initiatives, finance and process improvements.
Position Requirements (Please only apply if you meet all of the required qualifications - including the required Healthcare experience):
Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.Twelve (12) to Fifteen (15) or more years of broad experience in Finance. At minimum of five (5) years of this must be in a senior leadership capacity in a HEALTHCARE organization. The base assumption is that the successful candidate will be an expert on all aspects of healthcare finance.Significant demonstrated experience in Strategy development, managing major projects, and leading large teams.Outstanding interpersonal skills which will enable positive interactions with many constituents including the Board, staff, patients, other leaders, members of the community, auditors, and other external parties. Must be able to appropriately and constructively relate to all levels of the organization.Ability to review contracts, negotiate deals, and be a member of the strategic team that looks broadly at the wide range of organizational goals while considering and advising of the financial implications.Demonstrated ability to facilitate culture change through the use of productivity tools such as Six Sigma or Lean-type methodologies.Ability to mentor, develop, and support staff to drive the development of the next generation of leaders.
