Service Assistant III

Description:90% of Time - Understand and demonstrate a Proficient knowledge of procedures and processing associated with Billing, Investment, Policy Administration, and Disbursement related transactions. Maintain required level of productivity efficiency rating. Maintain required quality levels. Must have required soft skill development. 10% of Time - Ad hoc assignments.Decision-Making(Degree of Independence): Assess work situations and notifies management when questions arise. Provide solutions and achieve objectives within defined procedures and precedents.Scope Accountability: Responsible for performing daily tasks timely and in accordance with management's instructions and VPSC goals. Responsible for ensuring proper procedures and appropriate regulatory and departmental guidelines are met. Responsible for resolving problems and questions in a timely manner. Responsible for improving overall knowledge of the Investment and Insurance industry, including specific knowledge of all VPSC products and services and regulatory and departmental standards and goals. Responsible for improving PC related skills, including knowledge of all business software applications used in the area. Responsible for working successfully in a team oriented environment. Responsible for assisting the Customer Contact Manager with special projects and assignments, including the training and development of new employees. Responsible for assisting with the development and installation of new systems and procedures. This is not a supervisory position. Communications/Contacts: Written and verbal communications with members of the service team and peers throughout department.Summary/Purpose of Position: This position requires a working knowledge of variable products and the systems that support them. Employees in this position should be able to complete a variety of processing functions with limited instructions and assistance. All duties will be performed under specific instructions with minimal monitoring by the Customer Contact Manager.Qualifications:College Degree or equivalent job experience. Knowledge of variable products a plus. Experience with PC based systems. Proficient data entry skills. Excellent customer service and listening skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented, organized. Series 6, 7, or 11 license.
