Service Representative, Life & Annuities

 

Mutual of America Life Insurance Company has an excellent career opportunity for a Service Representative.  This Entry-Level position is based in our Home Office and reports to the Manager of our Individual Support department. 

 

Position is responsible for interacting with participants and Company personnel for individual life and annuity product-related service functions. Also responsible for staffing the toll-free customer service line. 

 

Bachelor's degree required in addition to good communication and mathematical skills.  Must have, or be willing to obtain, FINRA Series 6. Prior life insurance and annuity experience in a customer service area desired. 

 

Functions include:

 

* Determining requirements, procuring paperwork and processing functions such as:

 

- Full & partial surrender/withdrawals, including IRS Section 1035 exchanges

 

- Required minimum distribution calculations for IRA plan in accordance w/IRS regulations

 

* Providing customer service via the toll-free line including, but not limited to, answering product inquiries, quoting fund values and explaining policy provisions

 

* Providing administrative support, including general mailings and record keeping, for life insurance policies
