We are driven to generate superior investment performance and exceed our clients' expectations for results, innovation and integrity. Position requires working in Boston until the move to Smithfield, RI during 4th quarter 2008  Position DescriptionThe Investment Analytics Group (IAG) provides significant decision support application development and assistance for the global Pyramis investment teams, most specifically: Fund Mangers, Quantitative and Fundamental Research, Investment Services, Trading and Product Management. This position is for an Oracle Database Developer within a team that is responsible for the continued enhancement and support of a complex daily production environment for generating global quantitative equity ratings and optimized portfolios, 1000+ daily reports, numerous web pages and custom applications.  For these tasks, data from dozens of proprietary and commercial sources is collected, mapped and normalized into a terabyte Oracle warehouse managed by a small database development team.. Primary Responsibilities Operational Support & Control for a 24/7 production Oracle warehouse environment Develop Oracle based applications to primarily support the IAG applications. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (MIS, Computer Science or Finance a plus) 2+ years of hands-on Oracle Database development experienceSkills and Knowledge:Required: Must be able to work in Boston and then in Smithfield, Rhode Island by 4th quarter 2008 Good understanding of Relational Database architecture Skilled in PL/SQL Skilled with shell scripting and/or PERL Skilled with TOAD, Rapid SQL or other SQL editor/IDE for DB interface Strong understanding of Windows and/or UNIX environments and MS Office Products Interest in Stocks and InvestingDesirable: Experience with financial market data Experience using some structured and object oriented languages (e.g., Visual Basic, C++) Basic understanding of basic Financial Management and Accounting concepts Basic understanding of the Financial Services Industry and some knowledge of Financial Market Data.
