Sr. Accountant - Financial Reporting

Position Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to complete general accounting functions, including verifying and analyzing departmental and store level operating performance, account reconciliation and providing management with accurate financial information and analysis which allows management to monitor Company operating performance. Performs account reconciliations to verify accuracy of accounts.Performs analysis of store operating results, which allows management to monitor performance.Develops journal entries to upgrade general ledger for monthly financial activity. Updates journal entries to assure the general ledger is current. Performs various monthly closing responsibilities. Implements and maintains databases for analyzing information and creating reports. Prepares quarterly and year-end schedules in support of external auditors. Responds to store inquires regarding store level profit and loss statements. Performs analysis for management on a routine basis. Researches supporting detail for accounting transactions.Assists in preparation of internal and external financial statements and reports. Assists in compiling information for annual budgets and analyzing variances. Interfaces with other departments within the Company to assist with financial responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Three years of accounting experience which includes applying generally accepted accounting principles.Thorough understanding of basic accounting principles. Experience in monthly closing procedures. PC skills including spreadsheet, database and word processing software. Must be extremely detail oriented. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Extensive analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to work in a changing environment and consistently meet deadlines.
