 Sr. Java Engineer, Object Oriented 













The CBOE is looking for an Software Engineer with java and oracle database experience who will work with the Systems development staff and Architects to translate high level specifications into use cases, object/data models and ultimately into designs and implementation (code). Duties will include developing use cases, components, component interfaces, designing and implementing business objects. Specific duties include: design and development of technology and business/domain object models, in addition to the identification of design alternatives that will implement a solution from a specific analysis model. Additional responsibilities will include evaluation of design alternatives for development cost, solutions using various object-oriented engineering methods and perform code test coverage analysis on components for turnover to integration testing team, provide support maintenance for existing production applications. (Sometimes production support requires working outside the regular working hours for installation, testing and setup purposes, must not pose a problem).

This position requires a minimum of 8 to 10 years industry experience developing computer software along with oracle database experience.

Technical experience requirements include: Java (5+ years of CORE Java experience is required) Oracle or experience with a comparable relational database UNIX shell scripting Object modeling utilizing UMLUse of development process guidelines including Scrum or RUPUse of CORBA compliant Object Request Broker (ORB) such as Orbix, VisiBroker or RMIDevelopment experiences within a highly available system on UNIX servers and database servers and exposure to relational or object-oriented databases management systemsExperience with leading a project as a project lead (includes the whole life cycle of the project all the way through installation on a production environment)Person must be self motivated and eager to learn new technologies Demonstrated proficiency developing framework-based software.

Education:

M.S./B.S. in Computer Science or similar is required.
