For more than 30 years, TransUnion has been the credit information provider customers trust to deliver accurate and reliable financial data to support growing economies.  Today, we provide valuable business intelligence to customers around the globe.  Want to Make an Impact?At TransUnion, a leader in the information services industry, we've made a habit of impacting the world around us.  Our commitment to technology is second to none.  And because we constantly encourage new ideas and new thinking from our associates, our continued growth is assured.Senior Open Systems EngineerResponsibilities: - Strong knowledge of Open Systems and Web Hosting experience (Apache, Tomcat, Websphere) is required. - Design and implement new technologies in an Open Systems environment.  Applies knowledge of open systems engineering to plan, direct and support projects of all sizes. - Develop and direct best practices with regard to technology including provisioning, package and patch management. - Develop and maintain strict documentation of all process, product and procedures necessary to carry out departmental duties. - Strong operational background in Unix (Solaris and Linux) and related software with an emphasis on automation and process improvement. - Support the administration, monitoring, backup/recovery, problem determination and resolution (break/fix), and general technical support, configuration and maintenance of all data center systems in coordination with the Atlanta based Operations team. - Support system level administrative duties to tune, troubleshoot, deploy and maintain and support multi-tiered clustere Linux and UNIX (Solaris) systems. - Provide direction for the design, implement and support servers and systems across the Application Service Provider environment including the servers for web, web applications, front end, application, transaction log, database, directory and monitoring. - Balance requirement from customers, internal customers and the existing infrastructure against available resource to develop the best solutions set to meet obligations. - Oracle RAC experience preferred.Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in a Computer-related discipline preferred. - 7+ years of IT experience with 3-5 years as an engineer in an Open Systems environment. - Strong operational background in Solaris and Linux. - Websphere experience required.  - Experience working in a high impact ASP environment running large applications, with a 100% uptime requirement. - Demonstrated strength with performance optimization including but not limited to kernel, network. - Proven technical troubleshooting abilities.TransUnion is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer; M/F/D/V.  TransUnion values the advantages gained from a diverse workforce.Apply today at: https://careers.transunion.com/psc/HC89/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM.HRS_CE.GBL?Page=HRS_CE_JOB_DTL&Action=A&JobOpeningId=3826&SiteId=3 Visit transunion.com At TransUnion, opportunity isn't simply something we offer clients.
