Old Mutual’s Institutional Investment Services and Product Development Group

 

The Group’s goal is to assist Old Mutual’s 19 investment affiliates in growing and retaining assets within the Institutional marketplace.  The group has primary responsibility for Institutional product development, product positioning and product quality.

 

Position Description and Responsibility

The senior product manager will play a central role in executing against the Group’s major goals

 Assist in developing strategic growth plans for key investment affiliates.Accelerate Old Mutual’s ability to grow assets in priority Institutional strategic areas (Liability Driven Investing, Alternatives, and International)Enhance Affiliate efforts in the LDI area by providing market research, product design and marketing visibility supportProvide Affiliates competitive analysis and support in high value add areas

 Enhance and monitor investment quality to retain assets.  Provide value add product analysis to help Affiliates grow business Create whitepapersConduct ad-hoc analysis for Affiliates Drive next steps to take advantage of rising performance or further analyze/act upon declining performanc

 Actively monitor trends and opportunities in closed end space - Identify closed end fund ideas and other ways to package Institutional Asset Management capabilities for the Retail space.

 Incubate and Launch new Institutional investment strategiesbuild business casesEvaluate underlying investment process

The ideal candidate will have:

Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skillsVery strong analytical skillsSelf-motivation and ability to thrive in fast-paced organization, outstanding multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skillsOutstanding client service and relationship management skillsStrong product knowledge and exceptional understanding of and interest in the investment processDemonstrated track record of success in effectively directing the growth of a product area both internally and externallyExtensive experience with industry tools such as Zephyr, Barra, FactSet, etc.MBA or CFA preferredAt least 10 years of experience in a product management or research role with an asset manager or investment advisory firm
