Sr Programmer Analyst - IS Cost Basis Management

Information Systems at Edward Jones is seeking a responsible individual to fill an opening for a senior programmer analyst. Duties include designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining programs under minimal direction. Other responsibilities include developing and modifying complex procedures considering equipment capacity and limitations, formulating and defining system scope and objectives, preparing detailed specifications, and providing guidance and training to less-experienced programmer analysts. They may also include conducting interviews for potential job candidates and providing quality assurance reviews. If you have a bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science or equivalent experience, five or more years of business application development experience, and excellent communication skills, this may be an ideal career opportunity for you.Responsibilities Perform lead analyst role to complete high-level and technical systems design for new and enhanced systems Perform project leadership role on small initiatives Provide technical leadership and complete complex system level assignments Analyze, design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs Develop and modify complex procedures considering equipment capacity and limitations Formulate and define system scope and objectives Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans Utilize one of several programming languages COBOL, DB2, JAVA, etc. Provide quality assurance reviews Conduct discussions and/or meetings with IS Management and end users Research and prepare system time/cost estimates Mentor less-experienced developers Assist with interviewing and selection of potential job candidatesRequirements Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, etc. preferred or equivalent experience in information systems Five or more years experience in software development and support in Mainframe environment Experience in Web environments beneficial Knowledge of financial services industry Knowledge of cost basis would be beneficial Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor, as requiredSubmit an online resume for prompt consideration for this opportunity.
