Systems and Patch Management Team Lead--SMS
System and Patch Management Team Lead
Summary:
• Oversees assigned resources ensuring all of the following duties are managed successfully
♦ Work with Developers and Business units to ensure network best practices are understood and followed.
♦ Package/Repackage software for installation with SMS.
♦ Define collections, advertisements and distributions for software installations on desktops and servers.
♦ Responsible for software updates and application rollouts as needed.
♦ Collect and report systems data and inventories significant to projects in CTS.
♦ Manage the Proactive and Reactionary Security scanning and patching process for all desktops and servers.
♦ Manage the deployment and maintenance of the virus scanning system for all desktops and servers.
♦ Recommend new technologies and solutions for security and systems management.
♦ Evaluate, test, design and implement new software and hardware solutions.
♦ Maintain Systems asset management system for proper accuracy and functionality.
♦ Work as a member of project teams for large migrations, consolidations, updates and upgrades.
♦ Update documentation as required.
♦ Project Manage Technical projects and represent CTS for Business projects
♦ Perform occasional off hours and weekend project and break/fix work.
Skills and experience:
Associate’s degree (A. A.) from two-year college or university; and one to two years administration related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Windows 2000 Workstation and Server, Windows XP, Vista, Windows 2003 Server in a commercial environment. Detailed Knowledge in Microsoft Desktop suite of applications is required. Server Operating Systems, SMS2003, SMS Reporting, Application Packaging using Installshield/WISE, and VBScript are required. Citrix, Retina, SSCM a plus
General Networking, TCP/IP and Routing along with Strong experience with network security and Security Patching best practices are required.
MCP/MCSE certification a plus.
Analytical with very good troubleshooting skills
Good team player and ability to communicate with all levels. Good written and oral skills are required. Must be able to lead meetings.
Must be able to provide Strategic direction to this team.
