Tax / Accounting Project Manager
We have a client that is looking to hire a full time Project Manager with heavy Tax and Accounting experience. Under the CLIENT SERVICES side of the business. 50% domestic travel expected (2-3 day trips). Salary up to $95KJob Description: Sales will close a deal and pass it to the PM. The PM will then work directly with the client (CFO, CPA's, Finance people and end-users) to define the project implementation. Projects could be 2 weeks in length or 2 years, depending on the size of the client deal. This PM will have a definite start and end in each engagement; however, he or she must be able to manage multiple projects at one time. The PM will establish the implementation team and move on. He or she will be engaged in not only new client implementations but also existing clients for upgrades, migrations, cross-sales, etc. Day to day: As a PM, he or she will work primarily with clients to manage implementations, BUT since this is a new, growing team, he could be involved in other projects with regards to growing the Client Services team internally. There is also opportunity to work on internal projects with other business units as the needs arise. Other Job Requirements: • MUST HAVE COLLEGE DEGREE. • ACCOUNTING/TAX BACKGROUND A HUGE PLUS. (Financials secondary if they don't have tax. )• MUST BE PERSONABLE AND PRESENTABLE WITH A CLIENT. End-users could be CFO, CPA, Finance, etc and candidates need to be able to be patient and be able to communicate effectively. • Background check can go back ~ 20 years. • Credit history is important to look at behavior (i.e. 10 bankruptcies is a sign of a possible problem). Drug test will be after offer and not all candidates are selected for testing (Be prepared to pass). Formal Job Description: Project Manager Responsibilities The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams. He/she is responsible for delivering project outputs on time, within budget, within scope and meets defined quality attributes. The Project Manager plans, organizes, staffs, controls and leads one or more projects to meet defined requirements or business specifications. The Project Manager will work closely with the Project Management Office, Relationship Managers, and Governance groups to guide efforts toward achieving defined business goals and objectives. This position also requires 25-50% travel time. The Project Manager will have the primary responsibility to: • Define, plan, track, control, and manage medium to low complexity projects. • Participate in resource identification and selection. • Provide project leadership to meet project objectives. • Ensure appropriate management, customer and supplier involvement throughout the project life-cycle. • Supports a Senior Project Manager (if participating in a program). Provides necessary activities and information to enable successful program delivery. • Work with the Project Management Office and optimize professional development plans. • Coach other project managers and project team members. • Make recommendations to the Project Management Office pertaining to team member, project leader, and / or project manager advancements. • Participate in all integration activities either for supporting project(s) or where the project is part of a program. Education College degree in a technical discipline; minor or advanced degree in business or industry-related subject is a plus. Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirements if the experience is commensurate with the skills sought. Masters degree preferred. Certifications PMP preferred Experience Must have held project management and leadership positions (reflecting increasing levels of responsibility) in an organization of comparable size; 2-3 years project management experience with experience on medium to low size projects and management of project resource teams. Must be proficient (required) or knowledgeable (desired) in the following computer applications: Microsoft Project (required) Microsoft Desktop Suite of Applications MS Word (required) MS Excel (required) MS Powerpoint (required) MS Access (desired) MS Server (desired) Sharepoint (desired) Visio Professional (required) Lotus Notes (desired) Lotus Notes Sametime (desired) Must have had some formal training in project management. PMP certification preferred. Demonstrated project management experience (issues, schedule, budget, scope, and quality). Demonstrated knowledge in creating and maintaining project deliverables such as project charters, project plans, supporting plans (scope, quality, cost, schedule, risk, etc.), status reports, timesheets, estimates, budget (work hours and cost), earned value analysis, milestone / deliverable charts. Demonstrated experience bringing projects to successful completion within cost, scope, time, and quality requirements.
