Location: Riverwoods, IL UNITED STATESFunctional Area: Finance/AccountingMin Pay Rate: $0Max Pay Rate: $0Pay Type: YearResource Type: Full TimeJob Description: Basic Function of position: * Responsible for the review of various federal and state tax filings and returns within the Corporate Tax Deparment located in Riverwoods, IL serving the Discover Financial Servcies and UK-based Goldfish business segments. * Responsible for analyzing the more difficult issues related to these returns. * Also responsible for U.S. taxation of the foreign activities with respect to the above businesses. * Responsible for the review of the quarterly and year-end income tax provision work papers. * Coordinate/perform specific research projects related to these businesses.Responses to various state and federal audits. Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesSOX Control review and compliance.Review of federal and state income tax returns including estimated payments and coordination of systems. Includes supervision of staff prepared returns.Accounting for income taxes and related reporting including the impact of developments in the area.Research projects primarily related to federal and state income tax.Supervision and development of staffResponses to audits and state questionnaires Preparation of various schedules relating to specific return related issues (more difficult issues).*HJSKILLSRequired: To qualify, you must have: * Bachelors Degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance. At least 4 years work experience from large corporation (Fortune 500 or similar)in: * Supervising corporate tax staff. * Corporate tax experience in preparing,analyzing, and reviewing federal and state tax filings and returns. * Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.Desired: * Above tax work experiene from Fortune 500 (or similar) financial services and/or credit card corporations, are plusses.
