Team Lead/Business Analyst
Responsibilities:
This position provides leadership and supervision for the Business Analyst function in support of the Transamerica business unit of AEGON. The position will have a predominant emphasis on the eBusiness initiatives for the various business units, however an understanding of insurance back office systems is necessary.
Project Management –
The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing, participating in and managing the project planning and scheduling, project tracking and overall project management for multiple initiatives. The successful candidate should be prepared to demonstrate excellent project management disciplines and should have a clear command of project planning and scheduling techniques. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellent project tracking and reporting skills.
Business Analyst –
The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing, participating in and managing the analysis and gathering of business unit needs and requirements, formulation of business requirements and specifications, formulation of functional design specifications, development of test plans and quality assurance steps, and the coordination of all project related activities. The successful candidate will also be required to develop and review test case scenarios and review testing solutions, be responsible for meeting with business unit representatives to discuss needs and provide status, and coordinate project activity across a diverse group of project contributors. The successful candidate must understand and apply current application development methodologies and solutions to enterprise level development activities.
Administration
The successful candidate will be responsible supervision of the Business Analyst team and the administrative responsibilities associated with this responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field – or equivalent experience
- Excellent Project management skills
- 4 to 7 years of Business Analyst experience in support of web applications
- 2 to 5 years of Management experience
- Demonstrated experience defining & developing web application requirements and business specifications
- Demonstrated experience in business process analysis and business process definition
- User Interface design and usability experience
- Conceptual understanding and familiarity with web technical environments
- Familiarity with Web design considerations, taxonomy concepts & web navigation
- Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, testing and verification
- Ability to learn quickly, multi-task and stay abreast of current & proposed initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail, thoroughness, follow up
Preferred
- Working knowledge of databases
- Experience with systems integration
- Experience with large projects
