Position Responsibilities: Establishes the vision, strategy and roadmaps for storage and server infrastructure globally Researches new technology and advancements to optimize computing resource performance, capacity and availability and establishes plans to evolve existing infrastructure Plans and conducts new technology evaluations to determine infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and makes recommendations for improvement of infrastructure, technology, operational capability, reliability and performance Partners with key vendors to influence future product requirements and enhancements to address business needs Consulted by other IT groups (Application Development, Data Center Operations, Information Security) in project approach and architecture Performs ROI and other cost-benefit analysis of new strategies and technologies Leads infrastructure project implementation and transition to operational teams We look for: In-depth expertise in the design, analysis, acquisition, installation, configuration and implementation of computer hardware, storage, operating systems, utilities or network-related tools and applies this expertise to the advancement of FTI’s IT technologies Extensive experience in the architecture and engineering of server and storage across large and global installations of thousands servers and Petabytes of storage Expertise in the establishment of server virtualization standards, procedures and processes providing flexible and dynamic provisioning and chargeback with holistic capacity planning and forecasting Extensive experience and advanced understanding of the following technology: Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas File System and Quick I/O (Storage Foundation), NFS, CIFS, EMC SAN storage – DMX and CX models, EMC Centera, HP and / or Netapp NAS, DAS management (hardware, backup, provisioning, replication, maintenance, data classification and archiving), SRDF/A, Brocade or McData SAN switches, Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM). Extensive experience and understanding of mid-range operating systems software and hardware, utilizing the following technologies and standards: SUN Solaris, IBM AIX, RedHat Linux, Windows 2003, IBM Blade Center and IBM Director, SUN E25K and IBM pSeries. Advanced understanding of clustering technologies such as IBM HACMP and Veritas Cluster Server Fundamental understanding of the following technology and inter-relationship with infrastructure architecture: Oracle, SqlServer, Veritas Netbackup, Oracle RMAN, BMC Patrol, BMC SQLBackTrack Fundamental understanding of operating system software and hardware, utilizing the following technologies and standards: Exchange 2003/2007, SMTP, IronPort, Blackberry, OS390 platforms, DB2, IMS, & CICS. Fundamental knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN), utilizing the following technologies and standards, Cisco Switches, VLANS, Subnetting, Supernetting, Trunking, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Domain Name Server (DNS), WINS, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), IPX/SPX, IP, & TCP. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both senior business executives and highly technical staff and colleagues. Excellent interpersonal skills, and effective in interfacing with internal and external customers fostering collaboration and establishing strong partnerships and relationships Possess creative ability, consulting skills and leadership qualities B.S.
