Technical Writer (Contract)

Envestnet primary service is delivered as an application service provider (ASP), however selected institutional clients have requested an installable version of the application. Envestnet is seeking a technical writer to create the documentation necessary to allow the ASP software to be boxed for use by a firm who wishes to build (from source), install and host the application themselves, configure and operate the application using our admin console, and add new functionality to the application and/or integrate it into their legacy environment. Envestnet is a 3-tier, J2EE compliant application. RESPONSIBILITIES: Working in close conjunction with our Sunnyvale, California based head of software development and staff, the deliverables of this contract position include creation of the following:- Installation and operations manual- Build and patch procedures- "Admin console" users guide- Programmers manual- Testing guideREQUIREMENTS:* 3+ years of experience in developing application level documentation aimed at programmers and data center IT staff.* Working knowledge of Java, SQL, HTML, and commonly used open source JAVA extensions. * Prior experience documenting a 3-tier J2EE web application is highly desired. * Bachelor's Degree preferred.* Exceptional ability to communicate in writing to various target audiences.* Effective and professional verbal communication skills.* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
