Trading Information Systems Support Associate

Trading Information Systems team is a highly-visible group that interacts with multiple lines of business technology teams. The team is responsible for defining, developing, operating and maintaining shared post-trading services, systems, related admin tools, utilities, and data. This includes overseeing the clearing process and interacting with the clearing firm that handles SIG's clearing activities. The Support/Operations candidate will be responsible for daily operational and support activities for the TIS team. The successful candidate will have the ability to solve problems as well as the ability to run various queries and tools to research discrepancies that arise throughout the day. This candidate will be able to run through daily operational procedures, and also be flexible enough to improvise the process as the business changes. This role requires a details oriented individual with the ability to recognize any problems and report accurate information. Essential Functions Analyze and research breaks that occur as a result of the clearing process Communicate with vendors to resolve breaks and send clearing files Perform end of day Clearing operations to generate clearing filesAct as a level one support person and handle support callsEstablish professional relationship with the clearing agent operations team and coordinate with them when the operational activities are not occurring as expected Monitor and resolve errors that occur while trading data is recorded throughout the dayAssist in streamlining the operations and support processIdentify ways to improve efficiency Required/Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience in a support/operations capacity Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to assemble, analyze and evaluate data and to be able to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to support the business stakeholders and the project teamUnderstanding of relational database technologies and concepts Ability to run Oracle queries and analyze the data returned on an ad hoc basisFamiliarity with running basic Unix scripts and commandsProficiency in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel Basic understanding of SQL; Oracle PL/SQL knowledge and experience preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft Access and Microsoft ExcelBackground knowledge or experience in the buy-side/sell-side trade industry preferredExcellent organizational skillsAbility to meet daily operational deadlines and to work well under pressureStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and in a team environmentMust enjoy working in a fast-paced environmentBS degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent work experience* Apply Salary/Benefits At SIG, our employees are our most valued assets.
