Reports to: President
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the President, sets goals for and manages the Bank’s training function including analyzing and developing training needs; developing, implementing and evaluating training programs; modifying and designing internal training materials; evaluating and recommending external training materials; scheduling, conducting, and facilitating training sessions; and planning and counseling with management on recommended training needs for the Bank . This job requires knowledge of current community bank practices and methods including compliance with State and Federal Banking laws, and the ability to implement and administer training programs and policies which strategically support the bank’s mission and goals.
General Description/Duties:
Promotes and supports the Bank’s philosophy and values through various training programs. Analyzes training and development needs according to the Bank’s strategic plan. Develops and maintains recurring programs for non-exempt, supervisory and management positions. These programs should include but are not limited to new teller training, new employee orientation, supervisory training, diversity training and other programs identified by management. Develops supporting teaching tools, including manuals and textbooks. Works with department heads, division presidents and executive management to determine type, extent, and scope of division or bank wide training needs. Investigates and recommends various training programs and procedures. Develops courses as necessary to meet nonrecurring needs. Designs examinations and/or simulated activities to test trainee mastery of skills in programs. Evaluates and measures trainee performance. Provides management with information and periodic reports regarding educational advancement by employees. Maintains knowledge of company products and services, management needs, and new training procedures to improve training methods and techniques. Administers recognition, awards, and performance management programs. Maintains current knowledge of industry regulations, requirements and trends by attending seminars, member associations and reading trade periodicals. Updates and maintains all employee training records and creates quarterly training schedules and communicates training schedules to employees and managers. Performs other duties as assigned.
