Our Medical Economics team seeks a motivated team player who enjoys research and analysis to fill an Underwriting Analyst position. In this role you would monitor financials, run and analyze reports, gather information, verify and validate client information to ensure accuracy, assist/participate in creating/negotiating complex financial arrangements and settlements, develop rates and analyze risk for existing accounts as well as potential new clients, respond to ad-hoc requests and provide other support as needed. Candidates should be decisive individuals who can learn quickly.
The successful candidate will possess a broad understanding of the functions of health insurance, a bachelor’s degree and/or experience in healthcare insurance underwriting, and ability to work with a diverse and skilled workforce. Excellent analytical and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, strong computer skills, and solid negotiation and influencing skills are essential. Candidates with a degree in a healthcare discipline without underwriting experience are also encouraged to apply. Must be dependable, able to multi-task and manage deadlines. This position is both challenging and rewarding and requires an individual who is committed to success and demonstrates a solid, consistent work ethic.
