One entity will consist primarily of our Title Insurance segment, which includes our trust and banking businesses, and our Specialty Insurance segment. The other will consist of our data and analytics assets, including our Mortgage Information and Property Information segments. The Opportunity: We are looking to staff corporate functions that were previously part of one company. This provides an excellent opportunity for a VP of Corporate Communications for the new Information Solutions Company. This is a unique opportunity to take your depth of knowledge in corporate communications and help create a new department in a high growth environment. The key to success will be the ability to be strategic and tactical roll up your sleeves, but at the same time work and think at the highest levels with in the organization.This VP of Corporate Communications will report into Corporate Development with direct access to the CEO. The role of this VP will be for external and internal communications activities for First Americans Information Solutions Company, promoting a positive corporate reputation and supporting key business initiatives through the development and execution of strategic and transactional corporate communications activities.Responsibilities fall into four main categories: External communications including reputation management, corporate brand positioning, media relations, crisis communications planning and response, and the corporate internet. Internal communications including culture building change management, employee communications and employee community involvement. Executive communications including media and presentation training and speechwriting for senior management executives. Corporate social responsibility, including community relationships and management of the companys philanthropic programs.Specific responsibilities: Strategically communicate First Americans Information Solutions Companys image and products to target audiences, advising international offices to manage public relations programs globally. Provide communications leadership to various corporate and business groups within the company. Oversee media outreach to domestic and international business, consumer, and vertical outlets. Manage the company's crisis communications planning and response. Promote brand message and core values throughout the organization. Ensure that brand standards are understood and applied to all materials. Maintain frequent contact with the CEO, and provide strategic communications counsel, media training and executive communications assistance to the CEO and other senior executives. Work closely with corporate functions including Human Resources, Investor Relations, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Marketing to develop effective global communications practices. Maintain and update content on the companys Web site, as well as other electronic vehicles aimed at reaching external audiences. Manage relationships with vendors, including outside PR agencies, as necessary.QualificationsRequirements:Twelve or more years of related corporate communications or public relations agency experience with a successful track record in corporate reputation building and leading a corporate communications team.• Experience managing communications budgets greater than $1 million.• Crisis management experience demonstrating solid business judgment and responsiveness.• Experience developing and executing strategic communication plans.• Experience collaborating with multiple internal departments to protect and enhance corporate reputation.• Experience working with financial media and knowledge of the financial reporting requirements of public companies.• A Bachelor’s degree is required; Masters degree in business, communications, or journalism a plus.• Proven ability to lead proactive and reactive media relations and achieve positive results.• Ability to win the confidence of and counsel senior executives on media strategy and crises.• Demonstrated ability to build consensus about strategies and messages among peers and across various reporting structures; work with executive teams and multi-disciplinary groups, and become a trusted partner and counselor to other corporate functions. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.• Ability to demonstrate accountability for results, and show sound business judgment/decision-making ability.• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.• Energetic personality, with strong interpersonal communication skills.• Willing to travel internationally.BenefitsBenefit InformationFirst American offers an empowered work environment that encourages creativity, initiative and professional growth.
