VP/Senior Director, Global Financial Reporting

International asset management firm is seeking a CPA with strong, recent director-level SEC reporting experience to have overall responsibility for the company’s Global External Financial Reporting requirements.  This is a newly created position that reports to the VP/Controller of the International Group, with responsibility for building and managing a global reporting team.  Company provides excellent benefits and an employee-friendly culture.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Oversee global Financial Reporting functions  Review SEC filings  Coordinate overall financial statement audit arrangements for the International Group  Review SOX compliance  Review policies and procedures updates  Coordinate global documentation of significant events and GAAP developments with Accounting Policy and Corporate Accounting groups, with an emphasis on impacts to Reporting  Oversee overall regulatory reporting tracking list and financial reporting database  Provide strategic leadership in the areas of external financial and regulatory reporting  Extensive interaction with other areas of Finance (including consolidation, accounting, accounting policy, investor relations, tax and management reporting) and other business areas including Legal, HR, and Operations  Provide direct support to the CFO and Controller for all Reporting issues and questions  Build and manage a global team with responsibility for supporting all global external reporting needs REQUIREMENTS Bachelor and/or graduate degrees with a focus in accounting and business  CPA or equivalent is required  Public accounting experience strongly preferred  Minimum 5 years of recent experience in reporting, together with significant additional experience in other areas of Accounting and Finance  Minimum of 5 years managerial experience  Knowledge and exposure to multi-currency and international organizations  Experience with automated financial systems, including the general ledger
