Vice President of Sales & Advertising

 

The Opportunity

We’re building an exciting and innovative social networking site in the consumer financial arena. We’re funded by PEAK6 Investments, LLP, one of the largest trading firms, and led by a nationally known entrepreneur and financial commentator (AOL, Fox, Oprah). We need the right Vice President of Sales & Advertising to take our presence online and transform it into exciting advertising and sponsorship opportunities. We need someone edgy, who ‘gets’ what’s going on in this quickly changing arena and who wants to join us on our mission to empower every American financially. Reports to the President.

 

Responsibilities:

§  Create the sales strategy and collateral materials, and identify and call on prospects

§  Assist management in identifying advertising and sponsorship opportunities for the site, as well as for licensed content and other media channels developed

§  Structure sponsorship opportunities

§  Maintain up-to-date understanding of competitive and consumer trends as it relates to advertising and sponsorships

 

Some travel required.

 

Requirements

 

· A minimum of 5 years advertising selling experience in the consumer products and/or financial services space;

· A minimum of 2 years working with Internet companies;

· Demonstrated record of success in a goal-oriented sales environment;

· Experience selling to senior executives;

· Ability to build and manage a sales team;

· Established relationships with major consumer companies and advertising agencies preferred;

· Ability to work in a fast-paced Internet company is mandatory;

· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills;

· Must be a strategic thinker and possess strong problem solving skills;

· Strong communication skills including ability to develop concise, clear and compelling business presentations

· A bias for action with an analytical mind, result orientation and ability to excel in a high pace multitasking environment

· Must be effective in cross-departmental management;

· Must be proficient with office software and Internet navigation;

· Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a similar field;

· Must possess a fun, multi-dimensional, and very motivated personality.
