Status Full Time, EmployeeLocation Jersey City, NJCity Position is Located Jersey City Job Category Accounting/Finance/InsuranceEducation High School or equivalentReference Code PCK505-201623 Position Category: OperationsPosition Title: Voluntary Corporate ActionsJob Level: AssociateLocation: USA - NJ - Jersey CityEducation Required: High School Diploma or EquivalentPosition Description:• Setting up, monitoring, and processing of Voluntary Corporate Actions from inception to allocation, including but not limited to tender offers (prorated and with consents), exchanges, conversions, rights, warrants, ADR cancellations, dutch auctions, puts, consents, UIT in-kind distributions, and elections, in book-entry form as well as physicals. • Processing early CD redemptions due to death, CMOPs, and assisting in process improvement initiatives and process documentation. • Individuals would also be responsible for the compilation and distribution of various management and regulatory reports such as volume and risk analysis.Skills Required:• The ability to understand the correlation between trading and client eligibility, taking proper precautions in counter-broker liabilities and FA notifications. • The ability to translate complex information into layman’s terms is essential. • In-Depth knowledge of DTCC Corporate Action processing routines, systems, and methods. • Knowledge of DTCC receive and deliver systems and cash movement systems. • Thorough understanding of stock records and journal entries is essential. • Sound reconciliation and analytical skills. • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) that will allow individuals to effectively interact with external contacts at depositories, agents, and internal clients up to the officer level. • Advanced MS Excel and MS Word skills required. • Time-management and multi-tasking is critical due to deadlines associated with this position. For successful performance in this role, the individual should demonstrate skill competencies including but not limited to the following areas:• A thorough functional and conceptual understanding of Voluntary Corporate Actions on all product types. • The individual should comprehend the impact of Stock Loan and Borrow, Fails, and ACATs on Voluntary Corporate Actions. • A basic working knowledge of how trades are actually executed and settle in the market. • The ability to identify legal, regulatory, and compliance risks. • Comprehension of process drivers and vendor announcement sources. • The ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, utilizing available tools to expedite the process. Assist others, both in and across teams to help achieve tasks and goals. • Contribute analytical capability and experience to problem resolution and idea generation.• An understanding of how an individual’s daily responsibilities impact the overall client experience. Demonstration of this impact through Client Reporting, including statement presentation, tax reporting, and Gain and Loss. • A thorough understanding of the intricacies of Voluntary Corporate Actions with the ability to explain such things to branches and internal clients in a non-technical language. • Provide input in defining client needs and implement solutions. Correspondence to client inquiries (both internal and external clients) occurs in a timely and professional manner.• The ability for individuals to perform root- cause analysis to understand a problem in addition to seeing it through to a resolution. Taking additional steps to prevent a reoccurrence of such a problem. • The ability for one to be able to think on their feet and be able to apply knowledge and skills learned in one particular area to other aspects of the department. • Question historical processes and procedures and be solution-oriented. .
