08-036G, EDI Analyst III
The EDI Analyst III will be responsible for the development, testing and production implementation of EDI trading partners, maps, business processes and communications methods. The EDI Analyst III will serve as a resource in the resolution of complex support issues, as well as the explanation and expansion of current standards and interfaces in the USF EDI infrastructure.
Essential functions of this position are:
– Create and change maps in GIS
– Set up EDI trading partnerships in GIS
– Create and modify business processes
– Configure and work with various communication methods, such as VANs and ftp
– Troubleshoot and take corrective action with regard to maps, business processes, scripts, configurations and communications issues, including VANs, ftp and PGP
– Work with customers and suppliers in the expansion of standards, maps, processes and practices that will enable them to take fuller advantage of USF EDI offerings
– Configuration of PGP as an external component of GIS, to enable to exchange of sensitive and time critical financial, payroll and Human Resource information.
– Serve as a technical resource in all areas of the USF EDI environment and infrastructure, including translation, communications, pass throughs, customer and supplier development, testing and production support. Make recommendations on architecture and standards changes.
– Install EDI software and patches. Work with software vendor to resolve problems and identify problem fixes
Qualifications
Education:
Associates or Bachelors Degree Required or equivalent experience
Experience:
– At least 5 years of EDI experience.
– Intermediate level ability in the use of the Unix operating system, command set and shell scripting
– Strong oral and written communication skills, with a working knowledge of all pertinent aspects of EDI and flat file exchange in general, and USF transaction sets and communication standards in particular
– ANSI X.12 EDI transaction sets, EDI translation/conversion tools (Sterling GIS ™ preferred), BPML graphic modeler/direct BPML code editor, Unix command set/shell scripting, middleware implementation guide developer (Foresight/EDIfecs SpecBuilder), PGP configuration and utilization
– Advance level technical and business EDI capability in the project management, gap analysis, design, development, testing and production implementation of EDI transactions, proprietary flat files and untranslated pass through data with trading partners. Knowledge of system software installs and support.
– Ability to work with third party middleware in support of EDI transaction set implementation, such as EDIfecs SpecBuilder
– Strong written and oral communication skills, to serve as a second tier resource on support issues, as well as to serve as a resource of current and future USF EDIstandards and transactions, with regards to the translation/conversion, extraction and communication of data between USF and its trading partners.
– Overall knowledge of Sterling GIS product required, along with ability to work with external mapping tool and BPML graphic modeler. Working knowledge of Sterling GIS, Unix, shell scripting and PGP are considered essential. Oracle, Java and XML are preferred.
