Sara Lee Corporation employs 137,000 people worldwide.Each and every day, Sara Lee (NYSE: SLE) delights millions of consumers and customers around the world.  The company has one of the world's best-loved and leading portfolios with its innovative and trusted food, beverage, household and body care brands, including Ambi Pur, Ball Park, Douwe Egberts, Hillshire Farm, Jimmy Dean, Kiwi, Sanex, Sara Lee, and Senseo.  Collectively, these brands generate more than $12 billion in annual net sales covering approximately 200 countries.  The Sara Lee community consists of 52,000 employees worldwide.As an integral member of our Accounting team, you will: Prepare, review and post journal entries to the general ledger.  Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, review and approve plant prepared balance sheet reconciliations, maintain and track inventories, support period close process for domestic operations.  Development and preparation of financial analyses as and participation in special projects as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.  Review, approve and process journal entries submitted by plant personnel.  Ensure financial statements are complete and accurate before closing the general ledger each period.Prepare and understand balance sheet reconciliations each period.  Review and approve plant prepared balance sheet reconciliations.  Assist plant personnel in resolving balance sheet reconciliation and other accounting issues and research other issues as requested/required. Prepare financial analyses as required such as:  A) operational results, B) accounting processes, C) SLC policy compliance, D) trend analysis, and E) year to year fluctuations.Assist with special projects as required. Function in a team environment, continually reviewing processes & functions while making recommendations to improve those processes and functions. Travel as required (appx 10% – 15%).Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or equivalent amount of credit hours to qualify to sit for CPA exam in Missouri required.  PC literacy required.  0 - 2 years general accounting experience.An Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer
