Join Whole Foods Market as a Bakery Department Manager (Team Leader) for our new Naperville, Illinois location scheduled to open July 16th, 2008. Teamwork is at the heart of Whole Foods Market, and you will lead a team with your creativity, passion for the product, and quality driven leadership style. This will be a full production "Scratch Bakery" utilizing only the finest quality ingredients.    The Bakery Team Leader reports to the Store Manager (Store Team Leader) and is guided by the Regional Bakery Program Coordinator. In conjunction with the Store Leadership you will be responsible for Team Member hiring, development, terminations and generally holding your team accountable for their work. The Bakery Team Leader is responsible for profitability, expense control (packaging and labor), inventory control, buying and merchandising, regulatory compliance and special projects as assigned. Complete accountability for all aspects of team operations and perform all duties and responsibilities of team positions.     We are looking for individuals who lead, not manage, work teams. You will be encouraged to run the Bakery as if it was your own business (within certain guidelines of course). This is a position that will prepare you for Store or Regional Leadership within Whole Foods Market. Duties/Requirements: Demonstrated two or more years of experience directing a team of eight or more people and proven ability to instruct and train new and existing Bakers, and Bakery Department Team Members. Strong knowledge of general Bakery procedures and baking practices. Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds unassisted. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted. Effectively communicate with other Team Members and leadership. Thorough knowledge of all relevant Whole Foods Market policies and standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Previous experience as a Team Leader, Assistant Team Leader or equivalent Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings. Ensure that all national and regional policies and procedures specific to the team are being followed and executed properly.
