Category Manager - COP Buyer

Essential Functions:

 

·  Determine purchase quantities and place PO’s for commodity beef, pork, and chicken.

·  Maintain pricing for all products in the commodity COP portfolio.

·  Initiate action to prevent or eliminate slow, dead, and overstocked inventory.

·  Monitor products to limit exposure to code date issues.

·  Support sales through training and communication of market conditions.

·  Source bid pricing for commodity COP products as requested by sales or management.

·  Ability to meet daily deadlines.

·  Work with inbound logistics to maximize efficiencies.

·  Participate in sales meetings and food shows.

·  Fill-in for other buyers as needed.

·  Perform other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.

 







Qualifications:

 

Minimum:

· Foodservice COP experience.

· Strong knowledge of commodity center of the plate items.

· Good communication and organizational skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

· Proficient computer skills.  Must be proficient with Excel.

 

Preferred:

· College degree/ or related industry experience
