Cost Reduction Project Manager Operations - Refrigerated, Naperville

Provides project direction and leadership on ConAgra Cost Reduction (CCR) initiatives. Partners with functional owners to integrate initiatives into business processes. Responsible for directing and managing project scope, planning and implementation consistent with established manufacturing platform project priorities. Manages the CCR project data base. Executes CCR projects utilizing common processes and metrics established by the Program Management Office (PMO). Guides the development of sound business cases to justify effort. Interacts with cross-functional company personnel and third party vendors in the implementation of projects. Manages team resources and coordinate the project planning and execution and ensures projects stay on schedule.Position Responsibilities Responsible for directing and managing project scope, planning and implementation consistent with established manufacturing platform project priorities; Manage the CCR project data base; Execute CCR projects utilizing common processes and metrics established by the Program Management Office (PMO); Guide the development of sound business cases to justify effort. Interacts with cross-functional company personnel and third party vendors in the implementation of projects; Manage team resources and coordinate the project planning and execution; Ensure projects stay on schedule; Provide regular status reporting, milestone progress on the overall projects; Coordinate resources and timing between functions; Provide risk assessments on project identify and outline mitigation steps with Team Leads and Functional owners; Develop project business case, key milestones, and risks. Write technical specifications/requirement documents as the case may be, formulating functional/technical teams, and in planning, controlling and other project management tasks for successful project execution; Responsible for project budgets, both capital and expense, for any projects under position's jurisdiction; Lead functional and technical staff in identifying, defining, and resolving systems and business process problems, distinguishing between symptoms and root causes; Understand their business processes and how technology can better enable the processes to be executed more effectively and efficiently; Verify that project efforts deliver intended business benefits; Coach, guide, and direct assigned project team resources.Position Qualifications BA/BS degree required in Engineering, Food Technology, Business Administration, or related subject. Masters or MBA preferred. Project Management Certification preferred. 2 plus years project management experience in manufacturing environment required. Exposure to multiple business disciplines. Strong understanding of manufacturing unit operations. Project management skills. Exposure to new product commercialization and start-up procedures. Excellent communication skills. Highly collaborative leadership style. Must be familiar with project management concepts and able to utilize project management tools and techniques. Demonstrate proficiency in multiple application development and operational platforms, complex functional and technical specification development, comprehensive systems analysis and design techniques, and fundamental quality assurance standards. Demonstrate an ability to anticipate customer needs, deal with ambiguity, and take action to avoid problems. Demonstrate an ability to resolve conflict and to provide decisive, respected leadership. Communicate effectively with both functional and technical partners in written and verbal forms.
