Credit Associate

Administer the credit policy according to standards set by the company to minimize exposure and risk of loss. Check the status of assigned accounts, analyze credit reports to establish credit worthiness, report credit standing, recommend payment terms, and collection strategy. Learn and be able to back up analyst’s duties with the department.Expectations/Results: Ensure maximum service levels are provided to customers (both internal and external). Execute action plans to resolve problems, maintain acceptable levels of delinquency, and consult with credit management regarding results.Essential Functions and Time Spent on Each:• Reviews assigned accounts to determine if payment terms are justified. Resolves mis-applied payments, short paid invoices, credits, skipped invoices and discrepancies – 25%• Maintains documentation on all customer contacts/sales associates communications – 10%• Communications with customers/associates and others – 20%• Collection activity, phone calls, letter writing, pulling documentation, and organization of files – 25%• Supervises trainees and assigns/delegates activities – 10%Additional Duties:• Collection of prior years written off accounts.• Participate in various training activities.• Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Job Requirements:• High school with 1 – 2 years college or equivalent experience in credit and collections.• Skills include Microsoft Office, 10 key, excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Learn quickly and understand complex concepts, problem-solving, negotiations, well developed inter-personal skills.SYSCO offers excellent benefits including PPO Insurance, 401k Plan, Stock Purchase Plan, Product Purchase Discounts, and much more!
